Carpet material needs to be recognized clearly

The first step in purchasing a carpet is to recognize the material. The simplest way is to take a few strands of yarn from the carpet, ignite them, and identify the material of the carpet based on the burning situation and the odor emitted. Pure wool burns without flames, smoke, bubbles, or a foul odor. The ash mostly appears as a glossy black solid, which can be easily crushed with a gentle press of your fingers; When nylon burns, there is no flame, and the fibers quickly curl and melt into a gel like substance. After cooling, it becomes a tough brown hard ball that is not easy to grind and has a faint celery smell; Polypropylene has a yellow flame during combustion, and the fibers quickly curl and melt, with almost no ash. After cooling, they become hard lumps that are not easily crushed; Acrylic fiber burns relatively slowly, with a pungent odor, and the ash is a brittle black hard block; When polyester fibers burn, the flame is yellow white, very bright, smokeless, and the ash turns into black hard lumps. By using the above methods, it is easy to identify the type of material and avoid being deceived
